Pick up a drifting bottle; bottles that fit your preferences come first. Your plan sets how many you can pick up each day.
From the first reply, text, photos and voice notes in your conversation are end-to-end encrypted.
After both participants have read a message, its encrypted copy is removed from active servers. Copies already on your device are separate.

TideWhisper is a message-in-a-bottle app, sometimes called a drift bottle app, for iPhone and for adults aged 18 and over. Write a message and send it into a shared pool, or pick up someone else's bottle and reply.
Yes. The free Standard plan lets you pick up and send a few bottles each day. Optional Pro and Max subscriptions raise your daily limits. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, and subscriptions are managed through Apple.
You can send one reply. The conversation continues only if the bottle's sender answers, so everyone decides who they keep talking to. Photos and voice notes can be sent only to someone who follows you. How it works walks through each step.
The bottle itself is not end-to-end encrypted. Bottles are screened for inappropriate content before they are shared. From the first reply onward, text, photos and voice notes are end-to-end encrypted. If you ask for a translation that cannot run on your device, that message's text is sent in readable form through our server to our translation provider. The Privacy Policy explains the details.
Not at the moment. TideWhisper is available for iPhone on the App Store.
The app is available in 11 languages, and built-in translation helps you read messages written in other languages.
You can block or report anyone at any time. Reports can lead to warnings, suspensions or bans under our Community Rules. A red hexagon beside a bottle means that it may break the rules. Take care with personal information: anything you share can be saved by the person you share it with.
